"Sept. 11, 2004" Champeno Brings Home Fifth
The 25-lap late model feature saw Wade Champeno take the early lead.
Soon he would have to fend off the challenges of Todd Price and Rick Boyer. Price went to the lead on lap 9 and two
laps later, Boyer overtook Champeno for second. Price looked like the man to beat and Boyer was unable to make a challenge,
but a lap 16 caution for a spinning Todd Corson gave Boyer one last chance on the restart. Price beat Boyer to turn
1 when the field went back to green and went on for his sixth win of the season. Boyer, Dusty Rhoads, Mel Wilt, and
Champeno rounded out the top five. Despite finishing ahead of Boyer, Boyer still holds a 16-point lead over Price.
Rhoads won the heat.
Todd Price, Boyer, Rhoads, Wilt, and Imler Pennsylvania driver Wade Champeno
rounded out the top five in the New Enterprise Stone and Lime Late Models at Jennerstown Speedway.
