Graduating from the Karting to a full size car
was a hard task for the young driver of Wade Champeno at the age 16 in 1998 with
having no family members that raced short tracks prior to him.
It was a fleet Wade would over come and accel at after reaching
half way point of his 1998 race season after his family and him figuired out how to set there
racecar up and you then couldn't keep the young 16 yr. old driver out of the top five.
He managed to get 10th place in points out of 40 drivers
who have been racing this class for decades and he just missed the Rookie of The Year Title
by one spot to a fellow racer Mel Wilt.
